Herman leads Compass by equipping talented people to achieve great things. He manages P&L, sets the strategic direction and growth objectives of Compass and executes on that vision through business development activities. Herman, a Marine, has supported the public sector since 2011, scaling a business from $2M to over $60M in revenue and delivering award-winning products for top government leaders. Before founding Compass, Herman worked in Salesforce’s Global Public Sector organization, inspiring his mission to transform government service with delightful Salesforce applications. Herman is married to his best friend Mikayla and has three children. He believes being a husband and father are the most important jobs he has, and he enjoys golf in his “free time.”
Paul oversees operations, strategy execution, team development, problem solving, risk management, and advises the CEO. He brings extensive experience on the value creation side of business in business analysis, software development, agile methodologies, and product and staff management from roles at Computer Sciences Corporation, The Bureau of National Affairs, and Bloomberg Industry Group. Paul has a strong track record of building high-performing agile teams and delivering impactful software solutions that get the results business’s need. Paul and his wife Tina have five children and nine grandchildren. He is an avid bike commuter and looks forward to riding to Compass HQ in Leesburg, VA.
Joe partners with clients to design smart, user-focused applications that are built right from the start, providing technical oversight from initial design through launch. With over 17 years of experience including roles in configuration, development, solution architecture, and technical leadership, he specializes in scalable, mission-aligned solutions for the public sector. Previously an Enterprise Architect in Salesforce’s Global Public Sector practice, Joe is a trusted and valued partner for his blend of technical expertise and strategic insight. Joe and his wife Charli have four children, and outside work, he enjoys coaching soccer, working on the family farm, and volunteering at his church.
Maggie Ellis is a Salesforce Delivery Lead with 15+ years of experience leading complex Salesforce implementations across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and CPQ. She manages multiple projects, ensuring team alignment, timely delivery, and effective stakeholder communication. Recognized as a 2024 Salesforce Marketing Cloud Champion, Maggie holds six Salesforce certifications and is known for building high-performing teams and translating strategy into scalable solutions. Outside of work, she enjoys playing golf, traveling the world, and spending time with family.
Dave builds thoughtful, reliable Salesforce solutions to simplify processes, improve data quality, and enhance user experiences. He has led projects in automation, data accuracy, and process redesign across multiple sectors, always focusing on making Salesforce tools more effective for teams and structured for long-term growth. He listens well, learns constantly, and solves problems one step at a time. Dave is also a husband and father of five, and the experiences of fatherhood shape how he shows up at work—with patience, empathy, and a focus on what matters. Outside of work, he enjoys learning new things, being creative, and making people’s lives a little easier where he can.
Joy plays a key role in supporting senior leadership and ensuring smooth operations at Compass Strategy Design. She manages calendars, coordinates meetings, prepares reports, and acts as a trusted liaison for executives. Drawing on her experience in the Medical Device Industry, Joy excels at anticipating needs, solving complex problems, and delivering creative workflow solutions. She is dedicated to empowering Compass’ leaders to focus on strategic priorities and is committed to excellence in every interaction. Outside of work, Joy enjoys weekly rec soccer matches and can be found on the weekends enjoying a flat white and a game of cards with friends.
